Through the Stockholm Archipelago

We are now in Nynäshamn waiting for good winds for the 75 nm crossing to Gotland. I also try to get some rest to cure my summer flu. It started on Tuesday morning with a sore throat, and since then, Minna has taken more responsibility for sailing and navigation, while I have been resting.

A British rock in Sweden?

From Granhamn we motored first through the narrow 'Garden fairway' to Ingmarsö, which is a small guest harbour. From there we continued with a short leg to a wild anchorage near Munkö island.

On Ingmarsö one can lend a rowboat to visit a grocery store on the other side of the bay.

Beautiful anchorage near Munkö

On Thursday, we finally got some easterly winds and even hoisted the gennaker in the afternoon. Otherwise, we have had mostly headwind in the Stockholm Archipelago.

According to the current plan, we are leaving Nynäshamn later in the evening, since good winds are forecasted for the night. Thus, we are expecting to arrive in Gotland during Saturday afternoon.
